Encounters With Christ – Judas Iscariot
John 12:4-6 (Pew Bible page 1670)

Meeting Jesus:
See how people responded.
Closer relationship with God.

Chosen But Frozen:
Chosen to hear Christ.
Confused about His teachings.
Not know how to accept or give love.

Accepting Love:
Not natural.
They were not taught.
Behind the wall is lonely.
Cannot fix by yourself.

What About Us:
What to do about the wall?
Do something radical.
Let God help you lower the wall!

Lenten Study & Reflection

Pastor Rich will be guiding a Lenten study and reflection on the seven last words of Christ. This study will be each Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm between February 23 and March 30. Bring your bible and something to take notes on. You will be blessed as you understand more clearly what Christ did for us on Good Friday!

Talent Show

We are hosting a Talent Show on Friday, February 26, at 7 pm. Several local talents will be performing. Buddy DeLoach will be the MC. We will also receive a freewill offering to support our Youth Ministries.

Encounters With Christ – The Woman with the Hemorrhage
Mark 5:25-34 (Pew Bible page 1560)

Meeting Jesus:
Encounter living presence.
Lead you to a closer relationship.

Victimized Woman (vv. 25-26):
Victimized by society.
Caused loneliness.

Courage To Be Healed (vv. 27-28):
Gained courage.
Only way out is to take a risk.

Healing Power (vv. 29-32):
Healing power.
Imagine the joy...
Imagine the fear.

Fearful Faith (vv. 33-34):
Confessed her sins.
Made herself vulnerable.
Be in peace.

Theology Encountered:
Starts with repentance.
Then reconciliation where forgiveness is extended.
Then regeneration where we are reborn.

What About Us:
Is this woman’s story similar to your story?
Respond by coming to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment!

Successful Man (v 17):
Was rich but lacked something
Missing confidence in God

1st Reply (vv 18-20):
Our spiritual life dictates our world
Jesus, you don’t understand!

2nd Reply (vv 21-22):
Change your attitude & follow me
Lacked a true walk with God
Choice to walk away from the Christ

What About Us:
Offering new life
Reconsider what is really important
It cost our faith & trust
What is stopping you from an encounter with Christ?

Biblical Medal of Honor:
Overwhelming odds.
Answered the call.

Our Battle:
Fighting against the odds.
World is against us.
Profess Christ as Lord.

Good News:
God turns the odds.
Not ribbon & gold.
Our medal of honor.

Sacrifice:
Cannot win the war...
Faith & works are needed.
Join the victorious army.
