Christian Women's Sunday

Sunday, March 21, 2010 is Christian Women's Sunday at FUMC! Come and support our women as they lead us in worship during both Sunday morning worship services. During the 6 pm service, Pastor Rich Wright will be teaching on the life's spritual struggle as it pertains to moving forward toward spiritual maturity. This is a Sunday that you do not want to miss any worship services! See you here...tell your friends about us, too!

Meeting Jesus:
Encounter the living presence of Jesus.
How did Peter respond?

All Figured Out (Mark 14:27-31, Pew Bible pg. 1580):
What do you need Jesus?
I have it!
Christ knows where the heart is.

I Am Not (Luke 22:54-62, Pew Bible pg. 1639):
Not understand Jesus’ lessons.
Spiritual & emotional healing.

Do You Love Me (John 21:15-17, Pew Bible pg. 1688:
Jesus ask us the same question.
Examine your relationship.

Encounters With Christ – Martha & Mary
John 11 (Pew Bible page 1668)

Meeting Jesus:
Encounter the living presence of Jesus.
How does the women respond to Jesus?

Jesus No Show (vv1-6):
Deep relationship
When Jesus was absent

Jesus Shows Up (vv17, 20-22):
Felt abandoned
Honestly poured out their hearts
Tears and hopelessness

Jesus Shows out (vv31-35):
Seek healthy relationships.
Prayers move Jesus to action

How Is Your Relationship:
Run away from trouble?
Warm and intimate relationship
Take time to experience God!

Pafford Scholarship

The Pafford Scholarship Committee is taking applications for the 2010-2011 school year. The applicant be be:
1) Graduate (or projected graduate) of an accredited high school,
2) Member of Hinesville 1st UMC, and
3) Accepted into an accredited college or university.

This scholarship is based on need and is non-renewable. Only one scholarship of $ 1000 is awarded.

Applications can be picked up at the church office. For the application to be considered, it must be accompanied with a high school transcript; a letter stating acceptance to college, financial need, and special circumstances; and 2 letters of recommendation (at least one for a teacher and at least one from a minister or employer).
